Phew
The quick on the uptake among you may have noted I have finally fixed the blog some. I wish I could say I'd learned some HTML and analysed the problem properly, but in fact it was all down to cunning use of cutting and pasting. It's not entirely back where I want it yet, but comments are back in their rightful place, and since Haloscan have elected to stop charging people for comments over 4 or 5 months old, should you wish you can look up February 2004 and look at the post with 149 comments where we all named events in consecutive years of the 20th century. The archives can be entertaining. Just 2 and a half short years ago for example I wrote:
So this has at least got me thinking that maybe what with me being actually quite interesting in writing for a living, and with even WINZ virtually telling me I should be doing it, that I should perhaps be doing something about it. And the way to be a writer is to write.
See, that's really rather funny if you thing about massive amount of writing I've done since then. I certainly laughed. And not in an incredibly bitter fashion at all. Sigh.
Anyway, ff you're looking for less of a comment-nostalgia type of entertainment here though, and more of a Ben-writes-a-decent-blog-post kind of affair, I'm afraid you'll have to wait. Though I often complain about not having the time to blog properly, this time it's really true. For the next 5 days my life consists of getting up, going to my new job at 9:30, (see, news) and working through until 5:30pm before taking my allotted half hour lunch break, so I can get to the theatre as fast as possible to help with all the things that need doing before the show opens on Friday. These things have gone until about 12 tonight, probably just as late tomorrow and almost inevitably (although I hope it may be otherwise) until about 4am Wednesday or maybe Thursday (this is the way of shows, typically). Fun and games.
Re the show then while I'm here, 2 questions:
1) Are you coming? Well, are you? You damned well better.
2) Got bricks lying around out the back of your flat / parent's house / friend's place we might be able to use? They can have them back afterwards if necessary.
Following the show there should be a considerable period of doing very little in the evenings indeed, which sounds like a perfect opportunity to commence the 27th Glorious New Era of Regular Blogging on this here blog. Yes. Ahem.
For now though, to bed, slightly frazzled.
