Really, I mean it
You know, I was going to blog this evening - honestly, I was, I've got lots of stuff to write about , and World of Warcraft is temporarily out of action too - but instead Karen played 'Squares' for like 3 hours.*
I blame Tim.
Actually I've got a muntload** of stuff besides this blog needs writing, but seemingly lack the time to do it, or possibly the inclination. No, this isn't true - I definitely have the inclination, but not quite enough inclination. Inclination sort of pools given enough spare time, you see - limited spare time leads to prioritising the use of said spare time, and blogging just to stop people bitching tends to find itself low down on the list. Higher up is blogging or writing stuff because I want to, but this still tends to play second fiddle to the 'Slacking' subset of mucking about playing computer games, watching movies or television, reading etc, in turn unfortunately (just) dominated at the moment by 'Work' and much less unfortunately by 'Spending Time With Girlfriend' (although I'm sure she'll claim, with some justification, that 'Slacking' beats her to the top of the list on the odd occasion.)
The solution is simple: stop working. If we lost that one slice of the demands-on-my-time pie (mmmm, pie) I'm pretty confident I'd blog all the damned time. A lot more than once (insufficently) every 3 weeks or so on average. So I've decided that I'll produce a 2000 word blog everytime somebody fronts up with 58 dollars, which is about what I earn during a typical work day after tax. I'd much rather recieve cash for blogs than edit articles about management and ACC law. So be the first to donate!
If not, guess you'll have to wait for the muse to come knocking when Mike's not using his computer and I'm not out or in reading something or watching 'Scrubs' or engaged in other pursuits. I suspect this will be sooner rather than later, but I'm not sure Dave can hold on even that much longer! Foolish really, I told him to go before we left the house.
And now to bed with renewed apologies to him and everyone else.
* Well maybe not 3 hours, but ages.
** A lot.
