I thought about it...

...honestly. But I was distracted by Ender's Shadow. Talk about your cash-ins - the exact same story as Ender's Game, but as told from the perspective of one of the supporting characters. Same exact dialogue in quite a few places. I really think once you've actually suceeded in breaking the barrier and becoming a big name author, you don't need to try nearly so hard any more. Still, it's a damned entertaining read nevertheless, and fair play to Orson Scott Card for making the same story well worth reading twice, there's some definite skill going on there. It's a pretty cool if quite nasty universe he has going on in the Ender series. In what can only be regarded as stylistically unfortunate news then, Jake 'Yippee!' Lloyd is apparently being touted in Internet circles as the leading candidate to play Ender in the to-get-produced-soonish movie version. Oh dear.

In other news, I played theatresports tonight at the annual Improv Deathmatch, and was reminded again, as I am every so often, of how much I like it, and had occasion once more to curse the fact that's there's nowhere really to actually do it (or not at the moment) if you haven't recieved your invitation to the clubhouse. Anyway, our team, Dramasoc, won. It was good (or some of it was, anyway). You should have seen it. Hmmm, possibly I should have actually told people about it before it took place. Oh well.

So where is everyone lately?

In other other news, I am actually going to blog properly soon. I know I say that a lot, but all signs point to it. I know what they are. For example, my gammy knee is acting up.

However, although there may come a time when the strength of procrastination fails, and a lengthy post gets written, today is not that day. (Cheering, brandish Narsil, charge)
