All the cool kids are doing it
Because I take my lead from Dave in all things, and because it was an excellent use of my precious and dwindling window of thesis writing time, now this site has the comments option. It says 'Comments' in the wrong font, but HTML illiterate dumbarses can't be choosers, at least not according to the D.E.A.
I was going to work on my thesis this evening but failed. Instead I watched new episodes of The Simpsons and Malcolm in the Middle. I feel the time was wisely used.
I see the Fight Club debate rages (well, splutters really) on. I think the one thing I can conclude from this and keep the argument going with is that the movie is one from which many different people can take many different things, which I suppose makes it a damn fine movie. But then this the one statement that everyone has been prepared to agree on, making it hard for me to advance the argument at all. How very like iron. And thank God.
Yesterday Sara shouted me to cricket and food in some kind of perverse anti-birthday action, whereby she has a birthday recently and I reap all the rewards. Anyway, it was mighty good, cheers Sara. We did a demolition job on South Africa really, hauling their total in with 5 overs to spare, and completely messing up their recent win record. Now in the past 19 games, it's them 16, us 3, as opposed to before yesterday, where we were much worse off at 18 and 2. Hmmm. Despite those stats, this series looks like it will be pretty even. Here's hoping the weather is good, Fleming continues his good form and Cairns really comes into some like he is threatening to, and the fact that I will be compelled to watch the games does not prevent me from submitting my thesis on time.
That's all I got for now, really, as I must be to bed soon to write thesis tomorrow. Oh, except to tell everyone to take a look at links that other people have already found. Michelle located the Episode 3 plot synopsis, which seems to be in adherence with all the facts known about the movie so far, so if you're not a non-spoiler freak, (and why would you be? It's Star Wars, so what happens is not so important as what what happens looks like) go read it. Tim found this and it is cool. Go click and drag the Nebulon B Frigate into a side by side comparison with a Super Star Destroyer, or the Defiant next to the Borg Cube. If you feel like a geek while doing so, comfort yourself in the knowledge that you will never be as big a geek as the guy who developed the site. Oh, and Dave has a comments stalker and apparently she lives over here. I haven't the heart to tell the poor boy that this 'Kristin' is in fact really a 53 year old truck driver named 'Rodney'. As in fact am I.
And now, as I've ditched the plain-wrappered bear with a bird-dog who was sitting on my back door taking pictures, and I've gotta be in queen city in a short short, I'm a gonna stand on it good and hammer down on outa here, good neighbours.
10-4.
