There is a fire down the road from us. A couple of fire engines are down the end of Totara Street towards Boy's High, but it's hard to see what's going on down there as there's that much smoke. The smoke has permeated downwind through the entire neighbourhood, smelling bad. We noticed when we looked outside and there seemed to be an unseasonable, smokey smelling fog. People have spontaneously popped out everywhere to see what is going on, and several cars full of ghouls headed down Totara Street - the fire guys are now turning them away.

A kid coming past on a bike said the fire was in Ngahaire Street, which puts it pretty close to Dean's Bush. Here's hoping that no-one is hurt and it's all under control.
